Biographical Sketch:
I graduated from Rutgers University in 1966 and worked for the NYC Welfare Department for 8 years. After receiving an MA in History from City College and an MS in Library Science from Pratt Institute, I worked as an archivist at Brooklyn Rediscovery, the New York Public Library, and the Center for Jewish History. I also taught archives at Columbia's School of Library service and New York University's History Department.
Since my retirement, I have been writing a social history of the women who worked in NYPL's branch libraries, 1901-1950. I have given several talks on this project at NY State history conferences.
My wife (Carole Rosenthal) and I live in Manhattan and have a cabin in Claryville NY.
